Recently, I had the honor of being invited to the Toronto Eaton Centre for an exclusive preview of the Air Canada Rouge interactive pop-up experience with my friend Ashley. The experience included larger-than-life installations and multi-sensory rooms where visitors had the opportunity to learn so much about Rouge!

Some of the cool things I learned at the pop-up were that Air Canada Rouge now flies to more than 70 destinations worldwide and that it will continue to offer blockbuster movies, now streamed to your own device because of upgrades to the in-flight entertainment system.

The installation of high-speed satellite internet on Rouge means that you won’t have to worry about missing a single message with Wi-Fi available throughout the flight. As someone who freelances, I need to stay connected at all times and this is a huge bonus for me as I can continue to consult with clients and brands while flying. That way I am always productive, especially on long-haul flights where a lot of the time can go to waste if no connections are available.

Air Canada Rouge now offers in flight wifi

In all honesty, airline food doesn’t have the best reputation and is hardly ever worth eating, but another reason that I love what Air Canada is doing is the improvements that it has made to its menu. They have completely changed the airline food experience by partnering with Freshii and their delicious offerings. Passengers on international flights receive complimentary hot meals that are tasty and those in Premium Rouge are offered delectable gourmet meals.

I also learned about and had the opportunity to test the seats which were on display at the Eaton Centre until the pop-up ended on June 2nd. They are the widest economy seats of any Canadian leisure airline and I was thrilled. I really hate being stuck in a crammed seat on a long flight with hardly any space to move my elbows at all.  Besides having the widest economy seats, Air Canada also now offers extra leg room for Premium Rouge flyers.

The opportunity to see all the perks and offerings at the Air Canada Rouge pop-up have made me very excited that I am going to Miami in a few short weeks and Barbados this December. I am thrilled that I booked to fly with Rouge and can’t wait to enjoy my direct flights in a wider seat, with a great meal, in-flight entertainment, and Wi-Fi connectivity!
